Senior Executive Director, Planned Giving City of Hope

William D. Strickland, J.D., C.S.P.G, C.E.P.A., serves as a Senior Executive Director, Planned Giving with City of Hope. In that role, he cultivates, stewards and solicits planned giving donors and prospects. Bill has a proven donor-centric fundraising background in addition to his experience in philanthropic consulting, fiduciary services, and business litigation.

Before joining City of Hope, William served as the Planned Giving Officer for the California Community Foundation where he led Planned Giving and Sartori Circle (Legacy Society) programs and partnered with business managers, CPAs, entertainment industry advisors and nonprofit organizations. He also served as the Associate Director of Planned Giving at The Nature Conservancy for 8 years after leaving Bank of America's Trust Services Center, where he served as Vice President and Trust Officer. In that role, he administered 280 trust and investment management accounts, providing technical fiduciary expertise. Having obtained a JD from the University of California, Davis, William served as a litigation attorney for Bergman & Wedner for 3 years. Also, William served on the board of the National Association of Charitable Gift Planners and as a past president of the Partnership of Philanthropic Planning of Greater Los Angeles (now named the Los Angeles Council of Charitable Gift Planners).
